Intensive Playschool

Introduction

This classroom functions as a transition programme, where students are observed and supported for a duration of 3 to 12 months. During this period, the school will determine whether the child is best suited for integration into the mainstream play/preschool programme or placement in special education.

The programme focuses on identifying behavioural concerns and developmental delays. A small group classroom setting is adopted to ensure individual attention and to provide targeted behavioural support.

Additionally, the school works in close collaboration with parents to monitor progress and determine the child’s developmental milestones throughout the transition period.

Criteria that we looked for

✔ DOCTOR’S RECOMMENDATION
The doctor recommends attending playschool instead of full-time special needs education.
✔ UNDER THE DOCTOR’S OBSERVATION
The child is under a doctor's observation to determine whether the child is delayed or he/she is on the spectrum.
✔ UNRESPONSIVE & UNINTERESTED
A child is having difficulty with focus, listening, and paying attention. The child is not interested in doing activities or joining in.
✔ ATTENDING THERAPIES
The child is attending various types of therapies, such as Occupational Therapy/Speech Therapy, due to developmental delays in milestones.
